The Best Neighborhood in US

Yes, it SURE is. "Won't you be my Neighbor?" (Morgan Neville, Tremolo Productions) is a must-see movie for architects.

I couldn't help to notice (between teardrops) where those magical lessons and stories were taking place. The Neighborhood is set up like a small urban center with sidewalks, irregular blocks, corners, and multiple store residential buildings. It is a walkable place, where public transportation is one of the main ways of transportation.

It is a subtle message, but I believe it was somewhat intentional: Mr. Rogers could not live in the suburbs. The lessons he is trying to convey are related to diversity, inclusion, and social awareness. The type of human interactions he is trying to establish would only be possible when people have to deal with the different, the unusual, the unexpected; basically, when people are dealing with an authentic and truthful urban-kind-of-life experience.

A lot have been said about the end of the cities. But let's take a few moments before that and think about what it really means to live in the city. As naive as it can be, I would love to move to Mr. Rogers Neighborhood today !
